Managing your money effectively isn't hard... you just need to know how to do it.

Curl Up With Some Good Books

As the weather cools down we often find ourselves with some extra time to relax and unwind.

If you are wanting to curl up with a good read that will also help you get motivated, give these a try.

  • Your Money- Starting Out and Starting Over  by Anita Bell.

An Australian book focusing on the various stages in life and getting yourself financially fit. There is lots of good advice for everyone and my favourite is the sanity allowance.

  • The Courage to be Rich by Suze Orman.

This book has an Australian edition available however the message is the same in both the American and Australian versions. Suze shares some of her personal stories and those of her clients to give us all courage to continue on our financial journey and to not let anything hold you back.

  • The Automatic Millionaire by David Bach.

This book focuses on saving a little regularly and making this easy and painfree by setting up the process to happen automatically. If you ever needed convincing that little bits add up, give this book a go.

  • Building Wealth through Investment Property by Jan Somers

For anyone who is interested in investing in property or still working out their financial plan, this is a great read with lots of helpful advice.

  • Rich Woman by Kim Kiyosaki.

This book, by Robert's wife is subtitled Because I Hate being told what to do! I could relate to this subtitle very well and found some good tips and inspiring stories of women who chose financial freedom.

Now I know I said that this was my Top 5 financial books list but the next book is not really a financial book. For all of you out there who are struggling with the thought of going back to work after the Christmas holidays, this one is a must read.

  • Before you Quit your Job by Robert Kiyosaki.

This book is a fun read for anyone who is asking why am I still working here and thinking of going it alone.
